    Weekly Photo Fun 4/22-4/28

Woho, being up so late earns me this one... Proof I'm STILL slowly working on my layout. Newly installed concrete foundation for the shop building in my scrap yard. Close up of the weathering on the exposed concrete near the doors. Not fully satisfied with the roll up door, I'll do a...

    June/July car exhange

Since no one has posted anything lately... News for non-members of our car exchange, we got a bit behind, but we're on track again. Word around these parts is a yellow hopper has shown up at Tri-state milling. I'm going to get out later today and get some photos.

    Few quick weathering jobs...

Finished up two weathered cars... Nothing super special, just a quick blast from the airbrush. Custom load from Grand Central Gems, on a McKean centerbeam. Weathered exterior, still need to work on the interior.

    Roundhouse 36' Meat Reefer?

I just bought a G&D "replica" 36' Meat Reefer from Roundhouse, on eBay. These are the old Roundhouse kits with metal frame/floors. The only problem is, the floor is poorly cast, and too wide, does anyone have a quick way to narrow it down, or replace the floor, or am I stuck with a milling file?

    Sidewalks!

I'm pre-planning to start "completion work" on one of the modules for my layout. This requires laying approximately 200 scale feet of sidewalk. My current plans call for Durham's water putty for the rod material (so I can test it out), however, the roads are to be lined by sidewalks to either...

    Metrolink F40PH #800

Since I have little to no money to spend on parts, yesterday I started work on my model of Metrolink's F40PH #800. This unit started its life as Amtrak #396. The model is a Walthers Trainline F40PH, Undec. I spent about 2 hours yesterday drilling, chiseling, and filing out the fans. I then...

Matching Athearn BN/BNSF Executive Cream & Green

Does anyone happen to know of a close match for Athearn Cream & Green on the BN and BNSF SD70MAC's? I'm redoing the logo on two, and the cream wore off in the process of removing the first unit's logo, so now I need to patch the paint.

    Save a copper smelter...

http://coppercountrypreservation.org/index.html I found out about this plan to save the Quincy Smelter in Ripley (Hancock) MI a few months back, but never really thought twice about it. My dad worked there when he was younger, so we got to talking about it today, he said they got enough...
