    Here is a tool that does that work quite well and is a bit less messy. It's much like a cheese grader, and it works well on foam board or dried dry wall plaster. You can find it or something similar at most hardware stores.

    The amount of charge from deceleration or going down a hill is very minimal at best. Actually, the cost of the equipment to make that happen is more than the car will ever recover in use over its lifetime.

    I would think one click but no engine crank would mean a good battery but bad starter. The one click is the solid solenoid engaging. Push start the car and wave goodbye. Remind them to park at the top of a hill.
