I like that it’s not too crowded and running the tracks at an angle not only stretches the run but looks much more appealing too.
I might try to lengthen the passing siding a bit if possible but otherwise two thumbs up!
Yikes, that will drive a guy nuts for sure!
Sounds like you’re going thru things systematically tho, hope you work it out.
I know nothing of the Tony’s CB's, I use the NCE switch8’s with my tortoises.
I’m not a steam guy but I’d imagine you can add any tender you like if the pickup wire/plug matches?
Someone will come along with the correct info I’m sure.
Why did the locomotive need to sit on a pillow?
Because it had a tender behind!
Try test leads with alligator clips or just a length of wire to jump the rail joints where the loco stops.
Sometimes even just a screwdriver or such pressed against the joint will show you where the issue lies.
Wish you luck!
When I get that loud hollow growling sound it’s usually because SWMBO found a price tag.
Seriously tho ballasting does make a more “solid connection” so to speak with the wheels and the layout base.
Removing the rock you discovered from contacting the rail will help.
Looks great!
That’s about a perfect amount of grime for me.
Seeing these reminds me of the days when if you found two or more cars with different road numbers you’d snag them quick.
And end lettering too, gold back in the day!
You can also dial down the top speed to just under Mach III should the throttle max out.
I found out once that push pins just don’t work as good as you’d think! 🙄
