Need help with what size kadees this locomotive needs

Hi i acquired this mantua 0-4-0 switcher from a friend and was wondering if any of you know what style kadee it needs ill include pics of it thank you

That may really be a Varney Dockside Switcher 0-4-0 but like Smudge says a #148 in a kadee box It's hard to say for sure
on second looks more like a AHM C16 either way make sure it runs then see about couplers

Here's my slightly newer version of that engine I thought maybe a Kadee #4 coupler but they are hard to find So Kadee #242 narrow gear box with a whisker coupler Also if that has the old flat round motor in it they don't run very well

Start with the 148. If it doesn't line up , you can try the 142 (overset shank) or the 147 (underset shank). This will allow the correct coupler height without the need for shims. If the coupler is to long or short , they also have a couplers with shorter or longer shanks in the "14x " series.
