You've also noticed how tank cars radically vary in size due to the commodity they've been designed for? From 13K gallon acid cars to 33K gallon liquified gas cars. Plenty of products are lighter (and heavier) than water.Seriously, what can be hauled in a 40' tank container? If one of that size is filled with water, it would weigh at or above 100.000 lbs; OK for the railcar, but maybe not for a highway. Am I missing something here?
